Week 11 predictions for 10 selected games:

A pair of 2,000-yard quarterbacks and no fewer than five Division I college prospects will be on the field for the Discovery Bowl between these crosstown rivals. QB Miles Hastings leads San Marcos (8-1, 4-1) in a game that will decide the Avocado League championship. His favorite target is UCLA-bound WR Kyle Philips. RB-LB Josh Bornes has committed to San Diego State and OL Andrew Meyer is considered a college prospect. Mission Hills (9-0, 5-0) is led by Utah-bound QB Jack Tuttle. Big-play WR Chris Olave is drawing interest from programs like Ohio State and Michigan. WR-DB Maurice Jones and RB Damon Wigand have college potential. San Marcos is ranked No. 44 in the state by MaxPreps and No. 3 in the San Diego Section Open Division. Mission Hills is No. 12 in the state and No. 1 in the Open Division.

Prediction: Mission Hills 24, San Marcos 17

How good is the Avocado League? The Beach Bowl — with the Golden Surfboard as the prize to the winner — features La Costa Canyon (7-2 on the field but 6-3 after a forfeit, 3-2) against Torrey Pines (6-3, 3-2), which took Mission Hills to the wire last week before losing by a point.
